Perhaps you have already heard that Mitt Romney expressed his preference for Snooki over Honey Boo Boo during the taping of this Tuesday’s episode of Live! With Kelly and Michael (a.k.a the show that used to be Live! with Regis and Kelly, which used to be Live with Regis and Kathie Lee).
But there’s an even better anecdote Ann Romney told, complete with an appearance by two different Texans.
As Kevin Robillard of Politico wrote, Ann Romney and Texas first lady Anita Perry once barged in on former President George W. Bush on a massage table during a visit to the White House.
From the Romney campaign pool report (via the Washington Post):
Kelly Ripa: What’s the most embarrassing thing besides this show you’ve ever done?
Ann: We had the unbelievable pleasure of spending the night at the White House and the next morning I was like, exploring everywhere. And I was supposed to be at meetings and Mitt was like Ann you’re supposed to go, and I said no, I’m exploring. I went into one door… I was with Anita Perry by the way. I’ll put blame on her. And Anita and I were like, we wonder what’s behind this door? It was George Bush having a massage. [CROWD GOES NUTS]
Kelly: Which George Bush?
Ann: George W, and he was covered up but I was so embarrassed that the next time I did see him I didn’t know what I was going to say to him. We were going down the elevator from the White House going to an event together and I walked up to the elevator and am just like blushing, blushing, blushing and he looks at me, and he winks as he does and says, ‘I look pretty good, don’t I?’”
Ann Romney is actually scheduled to attend a fundraising luncheon, hosted by Laura Bush, at the Bush’s home in Preston Hollow Tuesday, as Garrett Haake of NBC News reported. According to Tom Benning of the Dallas Morning News, George won’t be there.
Even so, our advice is, don’t open the door that’s labeled “workout room.”
