West Texas Chophouse
Near the airport, this low-key spot is a family-friendly option, with rustic decor and an open kitchen that make for an airy dining and bar area. Steaks are hand cut on-site, and burgers are juicy and well-seasoned; we liked the green chile and asadero cheese version. For starters try the spicy fried crab-and-cream-cheese-stuffed chiles or an order of thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon drizzled with tangy house-made steak sauce. The star of the menu is the tomahawk pork chop: thick, nicely grilled, and designed for extra-hungry diners.
