Is the Trans-Texas Corridor really dead?

The flap over the Corridor reminds me of a law school hypothetical. If A shoots B, inflicting a wound so serious that death is imminent, and C then fires a second shot, which also would be fatal, moments before B expires, is C guilty of murder? The answer is yes. The difference between the hypothetical case and the case of the Trans-Texas Corridor is that in the case of the latter, the wound is not fatal. I don’t believe that the Trans-Texas Corridor (by which I mean the relief route to Interstate 35) is dead. The Perry campaign’s silly charade of killing the Corridor twice doesn’t change the reality that Interstate 35 is the biggest obstacle to mobility in Texas, which means that the relief route should be the top priority for roadbuilders. It has to be built.
