Ross McCammon is the deputy editor at Texas Monthly. He was born in Houston and raised in the historic Oak Cliff section of Dallas. He graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton. Before joining Texas Monthly in 2023, he lived in New York, working as an editor at Esquire, GQ, Popular Mechanics, and Men’s Health. He has written for Bloomberg Businessweek, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Entrepreneur, the Wall Street Journal, and Wired, and he is the author of Works Well With Others, a book about workplace behavior and success that Nick Offerman calls “hilarious and true” and that has been translated into five languages. He lives in Austin with his wife and two children.
