Sporting new ownership and a new look, this time-honored west Austin restaurant is back in service, with a laid-back approach to fine dining. Hot and crunchy crab cakes are served as an homage to the original trout offering from founding chef/owner Jeff Blank. Sadly, the accompanying tomato puree lacked much flavor or appealing texture. Grilled salmon was juicy and tender and with an herbacious ponzo alongside. Grilled ribeye was perfectly prepared with a pleasant saltiness on the sear, though accompanying mashed potatoes had a few lumps in the final serving. Grilled lamb lollipops and shrimp arrived a bit dry and overcooked.
