Going stronger than ever after recovering from tornado damage, this Westland hangout remains the place for jazzed-up burgers washed down with crafty cocktails. The star of our recent supper was the burger topped with crisp bacon and cream cheese studded with pico de gallo, served on a jalapeño-cheddar sourdough bun. The Cheryl & Bo made a good runner-up, thanks to Hatch chile queso and caramelized onion as garnishes. The Real Dill Martini won us over with its tart blend of local Blackland vodka and pickle juice. Over the top but irresistible, the brunch item of choice one weekend was a pair of Funky Town maple doughnuts each sliced and sandwiching a fried egg, bacon, and cheddar, with fries on the side. Sitting on the patio is perfect in the right weather, but we are also happy to land inside at a cozy booth next to a big picture window. Kids enjoy romping around the grassy area adjacent to the outside dining space.
