Inspired by the success of their Red Sauce Sunday dinner series, sibling partners Angelo and Lucianna “Louie” Emiliani have transformed their casual all-day cafe/bakery in EaDo to an already bustling dinner spot dishing up classic Italian. Think lip-smacking chicken Parmesan draped in mozzarella and marinara, and spinach-ricotta ravioli in a cultured butter sauce scented with nutmeg. Our rib-sticking starters included meatballs in tomato gravy with garlic bread, and crispy fried calamari with Parmigiano Reggiano tartar sauce. A bright radicchio salad was generous, albeit heavily dressed with a citrusy vinaigrette. Less successful was a mushy, bland redfish piccata (it begged for a quick sear and more white wine) atop salty cannellini beans and a side order of broccolini that had gone oily and salty with fried shallots. However, the unique tiramisu, made with rum and mascarpone, made a great finish.
