Tucked into a corner of North Austin’s Hana World Market food court is a tiny counter serving up an unexpected fusion of Mexican and Japanese foods. The regular menu is short, although there’s frequently a bunch of specials taped to the board. A special birria ramen was sold out on one of our visits, but the tsukemen (dipping ramen) on the regular menu was next level, the noodles dunked into a glorious, silken mole. Chicken karaage came alongside. A special tako taco—al pastor Spanish octopus in a corn tortilla—was a knockout, as was a hamachi-topped tostada with a stellar salsa negra.
