The timing of Sunday night’s episode of Khloé and Lamar couldn’t be worse (or better for the network, depending on how you look at it)—the show chronicling the couple’s move to Dallas happened to air on the same day Odom and the Dallas Mavericks parted ways

ESPN Dallas reported that the Mavericks and Odom have mutually agreed to make him inactive for the rest of the season, finally ending one of the worst trades in the Dallas Mavericks’ history.

“I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship,” Odom said in a statement to ESPN.

This turn of events wasn’t a complete surprise to many fans, as Odom’s averages of 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds during just 20.5 minutes proved to be his career lows. It’s difficult to decide whether to blame the reality show for his underperformance in Dallas, though it has likely distracted him from his sports career

In Sunday’s episode, “Life in Dallas Begins,” Khloe wouldn’t stop saying, “I can’t believe he won’t be playing for the Lakers anymore.” But it looks like it’s time for her to accept that Odom just won’t be playing for any team until the end of the season.
