Located in the heart of El Paso, and just across the street from the police department, 1/8 is one part hole in the wall, one part old-school pizza joint and then some. The pies—topped with pesto, goat cheese, grilled chicken, jalapeños, anchovies, or just basics like marinara and pepperoni—are made right in front of you, and the aroma fills the air. Dining is casual and has a Cheers-type quality; everyone seems to know everyone else. You can even find yourself satisfied venturing off the pizza menu, for items like mussels bathed in a sauce of white wine, garlic, and lemon and lamb lollipops cooked medium-rare.
