Fifty floors high, atop the National, this pricey sushi lounge is just upstairs from swanky Italian spot Monarch. The menu has just fourteen sushi/sashimi offerings and a long list of craft cocktails, sake, beer, and wine. Expect to pay a premium for the glittery view and clubby vibe. Try this: The Hamachi Ponzu boasted impeccable, buttery yellowtail topped with razor-thin slices of serrano chile, threads of fried ginger, and a citrusy ponzu sauce. The Unagi Cucumber Roll featured soft, warm rice enrobing barbecued eel in a rich, soy-laced eel sauce. Our truffle-loving friends liked the over-the-top King Crab Roll, which is topped with crab salad and black truffles and comes with drawn butter to be drizzled table-side. Pro tip: Take an elevator to the 49th floor, where you’ll be escorted upstairs.
