Rulis’ has pandemic-era dining down to a science: they never fill the quaint restaurant but instead take full advantage of their patio and provide one of the best curbside pickups in the city. Order this to go: From a menu full of eclectic dishes, you can’t go wrong with a wood-fired pizza (like the spinach and goat cheese). Pesto Fries—skin-on and tossed with a basil-cilantro pesto—tempt with herby goodness, and the Pasta Chihuahua (linguine loaded with steak, chiles, and cheese) was featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The Three P’s Crostini is an almost essential add-on to your to-go package; picture sweet pears, salty prosciutto and manchego cheese, and a drizzle of thick balsamic (don’t try to eat in the car). Pro tip: Ordering online is easy; be sure to check the menu for specials. Chef Rulis Gonzalez might even come out to your car to say hi.
