Promising “chef-driven, handmade Thai food,” native Thai chef Benchawan Jabthong Painter and her husband, Graham, are succeeding superbly. Order this to go: the kanom jeeb, thinly cased dumplings stuffed with ground pork, shiitakes, and green onion; the Wings and Rice, spicy fried chicken wings sprinkled with crisp shallots and fried lemongrass, served with fragrant yellow rice; the Stir-fried Thai Basil with smoky beef, jasmine rice, and a perfectly juicy fried egg; and, our favorite: green curry in a creamy coconut broth stocked with chicken. Roti, chewy and substantial, makes the perfect utensil for mopping-up operations. Pro tip: It’s easy to order online and pick up at the drive-through window.
