This cheery little sandwich shop has the same vibe and counter as one of the major chains, but the offerings seem fresher, more imaginative, while still easy on the wallet, composed and served with fast food efficiency. The Rueben was meaty, rich and sandwiched between slices of light rye, including a couple of inches of tender thin-sliced pastrami, layer of melted cheese and crunchy sauerkraut. Lighter, but still hearty, vegetarian choices included a chick pea salad sandwich with sprouts and a spicy sauced bahn mi with or without sliced chicken. My friend from New Orleans says the hero sandwiches were reminiscent of those sold in corner stores there, what better review.
