Located in the Alley on Bitters, this wine bar, takeout counter, and cafe knocked our socks off with some of the best duck confit (served with a fresh frisée salad) we’ve had outside Southern France. The menu is concise, but everything is served with flair and imagination. Owners PJ and Lindsey Edwards (veterans of Meadow Neighborhood Eatery, just around the corner) offer a deli counter filled with cheeses and charcuterie (some local, some made in-house) and a selection of groceries that make us wish we lived nearby. Our choose-your-own selection of cheeses arrived with roasted almonds and cherry compote, and we added a sourdough service with fancy butter and salts presented alongside. Just a few tables in the cafe and out on the deck mean you should go early, as we can’t imagine this chic spot staying under the radar for long.
