The 2022 Bourbon Brawl Competition

Congratulations to Albert Pero from New York City, winner of the 2022 Garrison Brothers Bourbon Brawl!

This year, Garrison Brothers teamed up with Texas Monthly and Cocktail Courier to provide a one-of-a-kind Bourbon Brawl experience. The competition highlighted five U.S. cities. Five bartenders—one from each city—competed in the competition Finale in Austin, TX, on June 30, 2022.

Named after the B, D, and 4 trains that service Yankee Stadium Station in The Bronx, the BD4 was inspired by Albie’s childhood trips to watch the Yankees play with his father. While there, they would eat chocolate-and-vanilla twist ice cream out of tiny baseball helmets, and his unique riff on the classic Manhattan is a nod to those flavors.
