Join us for EDGE: The Texas Monthly Festival, a weekend full of onstage storytelling, live music, and access to exclusive interviews between Texas Monthly editors and some of the most influential people making waves in Texas and beyond. From fascinating conversations to artistic performances, explore culture alongside the National Magazine of Texas.

The 3rd annual EDGE, presented by VisitDallas, features Grammy Award-winning recording artist and songwriter Leon Bridges, Grammy Award-winning recording artist St. Vincent, designer Brandon Maxwell, cancer immunologists Dr. Jim Allison, Nobel Prize-winner, and Dr. Padmanee Sharma, plus a deep lineup of Texas Monthly editors and special guests like acclaimed author Stephen Harrigan!

From November 8-10, 2019 in downtown Dallas, EDGE will bring the magazine to life through one-of-a-kind experiences that explore and celebrate culture in Texas.

Exhibit Preview: speechless at the DMA

Weekend Pass holders are invited to a special preview of the Dallas Museum of Art’s newest exhibit speechless: different by design, an exhibition of multi-sensory, interactive, and immersive experiences. The exclusive exhibit preview opens with an onstage conversation between the exhibit’s curator and a Texas Monthly editor. Space is limited. RSVP + Weekend Pass credential required. More info here

Leon Bridges + Special Guests

Texas Monthly collaborates with Grammy Award-Winning recording artist and songwriter Leon Bridges to headline and curate a showcase highlighting some of the best up-and-coming artistic talent in Texas. Featuring music from Medicine Man Revival and DJ Sober, a design takeover from Israel Vasquez of Studio Real, and onstage performances by Leap For Grace Dance Company and Derrius Jamal “Bang” Harmon with Neiman “Nemo Fiasco” Calvin and Kenny “KB” Busby. It’s a one-night-only special event with North Texas roots and artistic influences personal to Leon. Hosted with Andy Langer, one of the most recognizable voices in Texas music and host of Texas Monthly’s National Podcast of Texas.

Sunday, November 10

Sunday in the Park

Join Texas Monthly for a free public event in downtown Dallas for a community-wide outdoor picnic featuring live music, food trucks, and an assortment of interactive pop-ups. The picnic will be open to the public in Klyde Warren Park from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., where EDGE invites all of Dallas to join the fun. The picnic will feature multiple food trucks including Resident Taqueria, hand-picked by Texas Monthly’s Taco Editor José Ralat, music by a 3-piece cover band Royal Dukes Band, beer and wine for purchase, popsicle push-cart, giant yard games, TVs by Savor will show the Sunday football games, and much more!

Where should I park when I arrive at the Bomb Factory?

Parking will be available behind Trees on Elm Street and at the corner of Elm St. and Good Latimer Expressway. There are also multiple lots throughout Deep Ellum that have parking available.

Where do I pick up my VIP gift bag?

Gift bags for Weekend Pass Holders will be available for pick-up with proper credentials during the Exclusive Interviews at Canton Hall on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 12p – 4p and at the Texas Monthly booth at Klyde Warren Park on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 12p – 3p. We are not able to mail swag bags after the event is over.

What are the bag and food policies at the Bomb Factory?

The implementation of our bag policy is intended to enhance fan safety and expedite entry into The Bomb Factory by reducing the time required to search bags at venue entrance. This policy also aligns similarly with other bag policies at Dallas/Fort Worth venues and facilities.

APPROVED BAGS INCLUDE:

  • Bags that do not exceed 14” x 14” x 6”
  • Small clutch purses or crossbody bags (with or without straps) that are no larger than 14″ x 14″ x 6″
  • Credentialed media and staff, team personnel and credentialed guests will not be subject to the bag restrictions but will continue to enter at the venue’s checkpoints where they will be subject to screening and bag inspections.
  • Exceptions will be made for medically-necessary items. Please email i[email protected] to get special clearance for medically-necessary items.
What is the dress code at the Bomb Factory?
  • We allow tank tops, flip flops, t-shirts, hats etc.  We are a casual environment, but feel free to get decked out!
  • Management reserves the right to deny entry to guests wearing any clothing items deemed inappropriate or offensive.
  • We do not permit selfie stick or costumes that may block customers views.
  • We do not allow Hula Hoops or Poi.
  • The Bomb Factory is a casual environment, however feel free to get decked out if preferred.   
What happens if it rains the day of the festival?

The show will go on rain or shine! All events are inside except for Sunday in the Park. 

Is the event wheelchair accessible?

The venue has elevator access to all levels. Limited ADA spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. Arrive early to speak to a staff member and we will provide accommodations accordingly.
