We were hooked on Bangkok Thai from our first taste of their “chicken noodle” soup, the light and tangy broth brimming with peanuts, broccoli, bean sprouts, and cilantro. We felt the same about the satay—we can’t recall when we’ve had better—and the panang curry, which has a deeply flavored sauce so wonderful we spent half the meal trying to determine how they’d spiced it. Though we’ll be the first to admit that the place is a bit dusty around the edges, with little thought put into decor, we’re also happy to admit that they don’t need such niceties. Every time we’ve been, the place has had a steady stream of customers, and it would appear that no one leaves disappointed.
