Burnt ends are the holy grail among some ’cue lovers, and acquiring them is often a matter of luck or the largesse of the pitmaster. At this strip-center spot in Plano, pork belly burnt ends get their own billing on the menu, right along with the brisket, baby back ribs, and spicy poblano sausage. Order this to go: All of the meats were delicious and traveled well, as did one of the three taco options: hearty roasted garlic pulled pork nestled into a soft corn tortilla and lavishly dressed with avocado lime crema, cotija cheese, tomatillo sauce, cilantro, and pickled onion. (Navajo fry bread replaces the tortilla for another taco option, with your choice of meat and smashed pinto beans.) Pro tip: Burnt opens at 11 every day but Monday and closes when the meat runs out.
