Dakotas went through a rough stretch a few years back, but it seems to be back in the game. Locals’ favorite dishes include the smothered steak with grilled onions and mushrooms and the double-cut Berkshire pork chop with orange-cranberry sauce, and it’s easy to see why. A number of seafood, poultry, and pasta dishes are also offered, alongside a bar menu with more-casual eats like bacon-wrapped shrimp. We decided to try a couple of the house specialties, a wagyu filet with melted blue cheese and lump crab and the pecan-crusted sea bass (which our waiter assured us had been flown in that day) with orange-lemon beurre blanc sauce; both were accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus and both were delicious.
