We were happy to return to this bright, modern, and colorful space with ample patio seating. Self-described as a “modern Italian Bistro with a hip West Coast ambiance,” Villaggio del Vino offers traditional, creative, and contemporary Neapolitan pizza and pasta dishes. The prosciutto and fig pizza, ordered as an appetizer, was a big hit with the entire table, as was the order of lavosh (the classic Middle Eastern flatbread) with jumbo crabmeat, avocado, citrus aioli, chile oil, and a balsamic reduction. Our vegan compadre raved about the spiralized zucchini squash with sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and onion (olive oil politely substituted for lemon butter). The pistachio-crusted wild salmon with saffron risotto, leeks, and mushrooms did not disappoint and—sticking with the nutty theme—neither did the pistachio tiramisu. There are a couple of weekday specials—Martini Tuesday and Wine Down Wednesday—if you’re in the mood.
