The Cowtown outpost of a Dallas favorite, this rare food-driven offering is an oasis in the boozy corridor that is Crockett Row at West 7th. A collaboration with consulting chef Stephan Pyles means the menu now holds more rewards than ever. Order this to go: Big, plump, spicy-sweet peppadews stuffed with creamy goat cheese ooze warmth, tarted up by a cool, clean cilantro pesto that’s foiled by crunchy, peppery candied pecans. The complement comes in the house salad, with sweet roasted red and gold beets over field greens tossed with almonds and marinated shallots, all tossed in a grainy mustard vinaigrette. Olives and yellow tomatoes perk up salami, smoked provolone, mozzarella, and sofrito on the Iberian pie, which travels as well as the hearty bucatini pasta tangled with pancetta, crushed tomato, chile oil, and pecorino. Pro tip: Order takeout on Wednesday, when excellent selections from the wine list are half-price.
