The Cowtown outpost of a Dallas favorite quickly found solid footing on the Near Southside. A combination of stylish comfort and industrial design provides a casual place for sipping clever cocktails and local craft brews prior to digging into the pretty pies and other grub. Goat cheese fondue, scooped up with warm bread puffs festooned with fresh rosemary, was a righteous combo, especially when topped with spicy pecan jam. Bucatini carbonara crowned by a delicate poached egg was elegant on the palate, while pomegranate molasses vinaigrette on an accompanying kale and watermelon radish salad proved a suitable foil. Among pizzas, our favorite was the prosciutto-arugula creation, with chopped medjool dates, pistachio pieces, and creamy ricotta on a flawless crispy crust.
