Authentic New York–style bagels are a rarity in Dallas, so it’s no wonder this SMU-area shop has drawn crowds since it’s mid-2020 opening. (The owner is a New York native and SMU alum.) In addition to the more than fifteen bagel varieties—all properly dense and chewy—there are a dozen cream cheese flavors, as well as an array of chicken cutlet sandwiches. Order this to go:  The gravlax brought us to New York nirvana: generous slices of salmon cured with dill, lemon, and beet, atop your choice of toasted bagel and cream cheese (we like the everything bagel with jalapeño); red onions, tomato, and capers pushed it to perfection. The Spicy Shug is a satisfying breakfast of bacon, egg, pepper-jack cheese, hash browns, and hot sauce packed between bagel halves. The Chicken Parm Cutlet on a kaiser roll comes loaded with marinara, melted mozzarella, and basil. Pro tip: Cut down on carbs by having your bagel scooped out.
