This east-side Mexican-inspired haunt has reopened with a colorful facelift, a hospitable staff, and a noticeable flavorful kick to each dish we sampled. Happy-hour specials of guacamole with house-made tortilla chips, tender bistec tortas with a piquant green chile sauce, and a perfectly citrusy shrimp ceviche kicked got us off to a good start. We loved the classic chile relleno stuffed with shredded chicken and served up in a cast-iron dish, but the shrimp enchiladas in a spicy cream sauce with a drizzle of tomatillo salsa was our favorite dish. Here’s hoping for a more crowded dining room in future months.
