Yes, you can get a fine plate of bacon and eggs, but this coffeeshop does so much more—and so well. Brined in-house, the corned beef with diced potatoes, peppers, and onions is the finest hash around, especially if topped with two over-easy eggs and accompanied with toasty challah bread. The plate of migas finds brisket shreds mingling with scrambled eggs, crispy tortilla strips, and cheddar Jack. Over the top in a good way, the Monte Cristo brings together bacon, ham, fried eggs, and Swiss inside a French toast sandwich with chipotle-raspberry jam on the side. At lunch, we’re smitten with the buttermilk-battered fried pork chops drizzled in jalapeño-apple glaze, with mashed yams alongside, and we make it a point to visit on Tuesday for the chicken pot pie topped with a pretty puff pastry.
