The mythical Big Kahuna Burger has been the subject of film-nerd food fantasies since Samuel L. Jackson’s Jules Winnfield gushed about how tasty it was to a pants-wettingly frightened Frank Whaley in Pulp Fiction. In December, When Robert Rodriguez turned the facade of a former Austin BBQ joint into a representation of the fictional chain for a set-piece on his currently-airing From Dusk Till Dawn TV series, it caught a lot of attention.
Now, to promote the show, Rodriguez has released a commercial for Big Kahuna’s signature pineapple burger. The commercial’s tagline is “Mmm, that’s one tasty burger,” delivered by the actress playing the Big Kahuna cashier—which raises the question, whose delivery makes you want the sandwich more: Hers, or Samuel L. Jackson’s?
