In case you missed the pics, this imminently Instagrammable aqua-and-silver Alamo Heights bakery (there’s also one in Dallas’s Highland Park) is owned by celebrity entrepreneur Elizabeth Chambers and her actor husband, Armie Hammer. Using recipes from family cookbooks (Chambers’s grandmother ran a local catering company), the kitchen cooks up fare that is more than pretty, although there is plenty of that in the beautifully decorated cupcakes (chocolate peanut butter, anyone?), pleasingly plated quiches, salads, sandwiches, and a few items you won’t find elsewhere, like the a crunchy-crusted to-die-for pimento cheese popover. Tarragon chicken salad here manages to be both nostalgic and modern, and you’ll find that same kind of balance in most of the menu. Expect prompt counter service and a takeout efficiency that is a model to admire.
