The Bent Nail is Lubbock’s latest entry in the feverish smoked-meats craze. A large menu of meats, vegetables, and desserts greets diners in the faux-rustic strip-center spot. We are partial to the lean brisket and turkey, as well as the St. Louis–style brown-sugar ribs. The brisket nachos are an extravaganza, for the eyes and the taste buds, and our favorite among the generous list of sides is the rich, spicy roasted creamed corn. The portions are huge, but you shouldn’t miss the wonderful fruit cobbler à la mode.
