Houstin IFestTexans will take on Australians in a barbecue cook-off next month in Houston. As part of the Houston International Festival, whose theme this year in Celebrate Australia!, ten top Houston restaurants will prepare their finest barbecue, and compete for the title and bragging rights of best International BBQ dish.

The Thursday, May 1st event will be from 6 to 9 pm in Hermann Square in front of City Hall. 200 guests will be able to privately walk the I-Fest grounds and sample BBQ created by master chef’s including Donald Chang from Nara’s, Australian Jason Gould from Cyclone Anaya’s, and Kevin Bryant from Eleven XI.

The Houston International Fest celebrates it’s 44th year this year, and the event encompasses much more than just the barbecue event. The full event runs from April 26th to May 4th, but it’s only on May 1st that you can enjoy the barbecue battle.
