The annual conference for the National Barbecue Association is being held right here in Texas this year. In just a month, hundreds of barbecue enthusiasts will gather in San Marcos, Texas to eat and talk barbecue. The conference is a strategic combination of education, trade show, networking and promoting the art and lifestyle of BBQ. It is where restaurateurs, caterers, product creators and more gather each year to share ideas, network and learn from experts how to help their businesses grow and succeed.

The conference kicks off with a sold out bus tour of Austin barbecue joints on Tuesday, March 4th. The following day you can learn the business of barbecue from Famous Dave Anderson, and hitch a ride on another bus tour to San Antonio. I’ll be providing some background to those from outside the state on the history of Texas barbecue in the opening session. From there, the subject matter will vary from barbecue business plans, to building a brand, and even creative catering. Check here for a full agenda.

Registration has already started, so secure your place at the conference. If you can’t make it to the whole event, then consider coming to the BBQ Bash cooking competition on the final day of the conference. Either way, we hope to see you there.
