On a bustling stretch of Belt Line Road dense with sports bars and restaurants, the second Hudson House opened with the same menu but a different vibe. We love the comfortable, French-influenced space and the open-air patio, complete with fans and heaters and a big-screen TV. Hudson specializes in cold martinis and fresh seafood, so might as well start with some East Coast oysters (Blue Points, Wellfleets) served alongside shaved horseradish and a champagne-ginger-pink-peppercorn mignonette. From the main menu, try the scallops, large and perfectly browned and served with your choice of topping (velvet sauce, lemon tartar, “good butter”). The key lime pie was the best presentation we’ve seen in a while, with torch-toasted merengue rosettes covering a round tart of tangy sweetness.
