Stiles Switch BBQ in Austin is celebrating the days leading up to Christmas in a big way. For the third year running, there will be twelve days of smoked meat. Well, Stiles Switch has smoked meat on the menu every day, but from December 9th through the 21st they’ll have a different special menu item daily.
12/09 – Smoked pork loin stuffed with cornbread and spicy sausage
12/10 – Smoked bone-in ribeye
12/11 – Bacon wrapped smoked quail with smoked corn on the cob
12/12 – Smoked bone-in pork chop
12/13 – Dunker’s smoked chicken & sausage gumbo
12/14 – Smoked turducken
12/15 – CLOSED
12/16 – Smoked prime rib
12/17 – Smoked cornish game hens
12/18 – Brisket meatloaf with buttermilk mashed potatoes
12/19 – Chicken fried beef rib with tater tot casserole. Real Ale Brewing will be on hand for a pairing with their coffee porter.
12/20 – Brisket stew with cornbread
12/21 – Smoked brisket tamales and spicy smoked sausage chili con queso
The brisket tamales can also be ordered by the dozen starting today, but call the restaurant before 12/16 to reserve yours. Now that’s a Black Friday special I can get behind.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a smoked turducken or a deep fried beef rib on a barbecue joint’s menu in Texas, so get them while you can. You’ll probably have to wait until next Christmas if you sleep on this one.
