Are you a culinary innovator that lives in the city of Austin? Well, listen up: The Austin Food & Wine Alliance is handing out three generous grants – one for $10,000 and two for $5,000 – to support the craftsmanship and handwork of Austin chefs, farmers, winemakers, brewers, mixologists, artisans, and food-centric nonprofits. “Because of amazing community support, we are thrilled to be able to give this sizable amount of funding for grants to benefit and highlight the talent, craftsmanship and innovativeness of the Austin culinary community,” Cathy Cochran-Lewis, Austin Food & Wine Alliance president, said in a press release. “Rewarding innovation and community support in the culinary field is unique and fully represents the fearlessness and cutting-edge philosophy of Austin and its food and wine influencers.” The Austin Food & Wine Alliance Grant Selection Committee will choose three different grant recipients based on their culinary innovation, community giveback, application materials, and projected future goals. The three grants will be awarded at a ceremony on Dec. 12, 2012 at the AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center. The application process is now open and will close at midnight on Oct. 19.
