When the longer, warmer days of summer settle in, the open road beckons to daytrippers, adventure seekers, and sightseers alike. With dining, shopping, and entertainment tailored to every lifestyle, now is the time to make Wichita Falls your road trip destination for a weekend summer getaway.

The sunshine also brings cyclists to Wichita Falls, a bronze-level bicycle friendly community. Annually over 13,000 professional and amateur cyclists descend upon Wichita Falls to compete in the Hotter’N Hell Hundred, recently named the Best Road Cycling Event for 2024 by USA Today.

After the race, Downtown Wichita Falls transforms into a family-friendly block party with food trucks, craft beer, yard games, and a DJed dance party. In addition to the race and block party, the Hotter N’ Ale attracts a more leisurely crowd that strolls in a 0.5k walk hitting some of the best nightlife spots with ample craft beers, cocktails, shots, and entertainment at each of the ten bar crawl stops.

Designated as a Bronze Medal Bicycle Friendly Community, Wichita Falls has options for every cyclist. The Circle Trail offers opportunities to take it slow, featuring twenty miles of ten-foot-wide reinforced concrete providing spectacular views alongside the Wichita River, by The Falls, through Wichita Bluff, and along the shoreline of Lake Wichita.
