Conveniently situated on I-45, adjacent to Conroe, Spring, and The Woodlands, Shenandoah provides great value for those looking for a place to stay in the greater North Houston/Woodlands area. It also has a lot to offer for a city of its size—home to five shopping centers, several family-friendly entertainment venues, nearly 60 restaurants, and 13 quality hotels (including a new, 106-room Hampton Inn & Suites, the latest iteration of that brand), Shenandoah’s great amenities provide visitors with a variety of options when considering things to see and do, whether you’re looking for an afternoon excursion, weekend getaway, or extended stay.
With five shopping centers, shopping options abound in Shenandoah. In late 2022, a new Daiso store opened in Metropark Square, and last year, a new Adidas, Cycle Gear and J. Crew Factory store all opened in the city’s Portofino Shopping Center—all which were new to our area. The city is also home to several locally-owned specialty stores, including Bikeland, Bike Lane, Picket Fences, Precision Camera and Video, and two new stores opened this winter, Space Cadets and Violet K-pop. These stores provide their customers an incredible depth of knowledge, selection and service—and spring is a wonderful time to visit them and see what they have to offer, whether you’re looking for something to spruce up your home, capture family memories, pick up something for the kids, or take advantage of the season and explore the outdoors on a new bike!
Foodies will appreciate the breadth of the city’s dining scene and restaurant offerings in Shenandoah. Restaurateurs provide a variety of cuisines, dining experiences, and price points, whether you’re looking for something quick and casual, or a more sophisticated, dining experience you can enjoy at Goode Co. Fish Camp or Killen’s Steakhouse, two of four restaurant concepts from the city’s two, twice-nominated, James Beard semifinalists, Levi Goode and Ronnie Killen.
Several new restaurants that will be opening in Spring 2024 in Shenandoah include Adriatic Café Italian Grill, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine, Kyu Ramen featuring TBaar teas and specialty drinks, Social Sweets, a locally-owned coffee shop and bakery, and the Sweet Swirl, a premium, soft-serve ice cream shop that features Asian-inspired flavors and floteas (floats made with flavored teas and coffees). These new dining establishments will continue to expand our diverse offerings and enhance our vibrant food scene.
Looking for something fun to do? Not a problem in Shenandoah! The city has a state-of-the-art AMC cineplex with IMAX, Dave & Buster’s, Main Event and an Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park. Metropark Square and the Sam Moon Shopping Center have five new indoor entertainment venues that are opening in 2024, helping propel Shenandoah into becoming a mecca for indoor entertainment and gaming in the greater North Houston/Woodlands area. New venues opening in Metropark Square in late 2024 include BRKTHROUGH, an immersive social entertainment experience featuring 40 unique, high technology challenge rooms for teams of 2–4 players, Escapology, an exciting and challenging escape room geared to 2–8 players, and Game Show Battle Rooms, an entertainment venue where you face off friends, family, coworkers, teammates or school mates in custom arenas, with live hosts. Two new venues that opened in March 2024 in the Sam Moon Center are Color Me Mine, a paint-your-own-pottery studio, and Cheeky Monkeys, a soft-play entertainment and birthday venue for little ones, from 10 months – 8 years.
When you’re looking for something fun that the entire family can enjoy, the above attractions provide great, family-friendly entertainment options year-round, as they’re all indoor and air conditioned—a nice feature given our Houston weather. Learn more at www.MetroparkSquare.com.
