With all the hunting news about (northern sector quail hunting starts this weekend, I think)I’ve been wondering about those Bandera quail that show up on menus here and there (Let’s see, I think the last time was at Jason Dady’s Lodge Restaurant of Castle Hills)A quick search through the ether took me right to the source. The minimum order is only six packages and that seems certainly possible for a non-hunting quail lover like me. No, these cage-raised birds won’t have the same flavor as those in the field, and I’d prefer the wild birds, but I recently grilled a couple of these — purchased from a nearby flea market/antique shop on Bandera Hwy. and I am ready. Here’s the link.
