A few transitions we’ve noted lately (in person or in the news):

Lisa’s Mexican Restaurant has moved from it’s former location to bigger digs at 815 Bandera. One of my favorite places for caldo — the chicken version is bright, colorful and has vegetables that look like vegetables in it — Lisa’s will now accommodate up to 250 diners. And has a party room. And has a bar (Happy Hour 3-7 p.m.). Is owner Alice Cendejas following in the footsteps of the ORIGINAL owner, whose name remains, Lisa Wong, of Rosarios and Acénar fame and fortune? The hours are now 11 a.m. – 10 p.m Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The phone’s the same: (210) 433-2531.

Besito’s, at Bandera and 1604, is closed for good. We’ll sorely miss the mango chicken salad, and the gyros that shared space with the enchiladas on the menu.

Ristorante Grissini has moved to a smaller location at 999 E. Basse, suite 125 and is open for dinner from 5:30 p.m. til closing (we guess that means when everyone has finished eating?) Monday through Saturday. Phone: (210) 615-7270.

Luciano on the Strand is now Luce, still holding forth with its upscale Italian vibe. The name change comes as Joe Buonincontri takes sole ownership. Phone: (210) 561-9700.
