Kitt Williams and her mother, Sarah Williams, opened Jefferson’s House of Pies in Jefferson, Texas, in 2003. Today, the restaurant is called Kitt’s Kornbread Sandwich and Pie Bar. It sells a variety of pies, but it is most famous for serving up variations of Kitt’s signature “Kornbread Sandwich,” which she first created at age eight after craving an afternoon snack. While Kitt won’t disclose her secret recipe, her unique creation satisfies new and loyal customers.
